Project 'Eyewatch' is a Victoria Police program with the intention of connecting with the community to develop local solutions for local issues. Victoria Police was formed when the Police Regulation ACT became law on January 8, 1853. Its initial strength was 875 men, including 26 officers.

The first Victoria Police depot was established in the inner-Melbourne suburb of Richmond and included a police hospital.

Today, the organisation has grown into one of the largest police services in the western world and employs more than 13,800 people.

The organisation is made up of police officers, public servants and protective services officers.

With 339 police stations as well as other policing facilities, Victoria Police provides support to the community 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

Victoria Police maintains a proud history of service in Victoria, providing assistance, protection, support, leadership and above all, peace in the community.
